Blackwell Console Table

Inspired  by a visit to Blackwell House, a masterpiece of 20th-century design built by the architect MH Baillie Scott, the luxurious console table was created in rosewood, ripple sycamore and glass.  The flowing curves of the table top pay homage to the flower motif inlays set into many of the historic pieces of furniture found in the house.  The glass reveals the beauty of the contrasting ripple sycamore inlays and the dramatic sweep of the apron curve. The delicate elliptical tapered legs were shaped by hand from solid rosewood and create a delicate refined look to this unique stylish piece of furniture.  The design and making of the Blackwell table was featured in two articles in Furniture and Cabinet Making Magazine.  Read more on our journal page.
